I believe you can define accurate. Don't confuse terminology. Accurate color means
,Color In = Color Out, not Color In = Desired Color Out. So how do we define
accurate color. Start with an IT8, any IT8. Measure that IT8 then measure how
well a given software package duplicates the desired results. Currently no color
management software works perfectly. If it did, I should be able to scan in an
IT8, profile my scanner, and then profile my out put device which has the same
color gamut as the reflective IT8 original, and reproduce an accurate IT8 to the
original. This doesn't happen today. What I'd like to know is which profiling
software does a better job under controlled condition. Heck, I'll even supply the
IT8.
