I had just made my choice on ProfilerPro and future purchase of a
Spectrocam. In a perfect world, I should have been well equipped to meet
all the situations I am going to encounter in my journey as a fighter
for accurate color. But (sigh) here comes a report on the lack of
capability of this software for CMYK printer profiling. Now, I am not
certain this is something I will be missing. I am novice in color
management, and I don't know what is meant by "CMYK printing". Some
thermosublimation printers are CMYK. But for instance, when I print a
CMYK file on my Epson, is this CMYK printing, or does the printer turn
the data into RGB prior printing? Second case of figure: I still hope I
can use someday the nice soft InDesign that sleeps on my computer's hard
disk. This will require a soft rip for my Epson (Birmy Power Rip). Will
this require CMYK printer profiling, or just RGB?
The package I have ordered has not been shipped yet, would you advise me
to look at some other package such as ColorBlind MatchBox Plus 4.0?
Thanks for your help!
