I wouldn't call it a problem. When encountering brightened papers the i1
reports the varying degrees of UV as it should. The X-Rite 41 non UV reports
the same readings (more or less). If you look at the white point on these
papers it is not what your eye sees. You can easily modify this in PM.
David's just reporting what he is finding. The results using i1 Match and or
ProfileMaker or HDM PO can only be as good as the input. So, for most the
results will be very good with the i1 very good for the majority of users,
but for that infinitum perfection in these cases reducing the uv could be
beneficial. Probably the quality of the profiles will overshadowing any
slight difference of UV. While trying to achieve perfection is a noble task,
the i1 certainly performs it's duties wonderfully. Try as I might , the
seemingly impossible to achieve color perfection is tied to other parts of
the profiling chain, especially profile editors, not the i1.
