Is it possible to estimate the Lightness Range of a device by inspecting
its Profile? Like, I notice that one of Steve's TR-001 profiles, the
280% one, when I look at the content of the B2A1 Tag, the CMYK density
values corresponding to its darkest tone yields CIE Lab value of L = 0,
a=0 and b=0 (to a fraction of decimals). That can't be the case in
actuality? We all know that the printing conditions that this profile
represent does not have a "black point" equals to "perfect black" but
rather around L* = 18.
Would calculating the Absolute Colorimetry from the B2A1 Tag give me the
answer?
