Hello fellows,
I was wondering on a workflow to work with
a clients Epson 7000 and film for my Heidelberg.
This is for dye sub thermal transfer GANS inks
printed to ( maybe) media street 24lb bond.
--
The client produces images in Photoshop in CMYK.
Then he proofs on his Epson 7000 ( RGB device - Correct?)
Then the files come to me in CMYK for output to film.
--
No profiles are embedded in the PS file.
He thinks he has a profile for his 7000
but I am sure it is not for dye sub.
Last night we pulled press proofs
compared them to the 7000 proofs.
Of course the colors were not close.
When I took the file and tagged it to AdobeRGB
then "converted to profile" to ANY
generic RGB printer profile -
I could see the "same" difference we saw on the
printed sheets.
( not the same colors - but the same apparent shift )
Is the problem the conversion in the 7000 RIP
from the CMYK file?
Should I have the client convert to the 7000 profile
in Photoshop - then send the RGB data to the Epson?
I will stop now - you get the idea.
