The smallest scanner available also has all the features of Silverfast... its
called SilverFast HDR and is my preferred way of teaching scanning in a
classroom setting. Simply burn a copy for hte SilverFast HDR demo software
and your choice of raw high bit scans onto a CD for each machine. The
students then get to go through the entire scanner interface, making the
selections they would if running a hardware scanner, and when they are done,
the button they push even says "scan" on it. No scanner required! The
students then get to take the demo CD with them for further practice, even
allowing for home assignments between classes.
