Actually the 41 comes with software that will do the trick... The
ToolCrib software will allow you to do this by using the setup window,
the terminal tool, and the info on reading a custom strip available from
the FAQ section of the X-Rite Web site:

We also have a cross platform freeware application called X-Key
available from our ftp site which will let you automatically tranfer
readings from any serial communications instrument into the foreground
application of your computer:
