In many experiments with Precal and a DTP 92, using the 2 methods
you describe, I got a better looking calibration graph [in OptiCal]
by using the <set contrast to 95 [just to leave a little headroom]
then set the guns to whitebalance and luminance at the same time>
method. It takes longer but I found that leaving Red at 100 percent,
adjusting to get the white, then lowering the contrast later to get
the luminance disturbed the white too much - thus the crappy
calibration graphs.
Be nice to have bias controls too since the graph kicks a bit at
the base.
Also in a PreCal > OptiCal workflow the contrast adjustment tweaks
the brightness and it can mean quite some back and forth.
Maybe the Sequel Enable Cable will make this messin' around
redundant?? Now what i want to know is does the Enable cable adjust
the bias controls on a mitsubishi 2040 [even though they are absent
from the OSD].
