I wish that were the case, but the only files in the Optical folder are
Optical files, not ColorSync. Are you suggesting that I put these files in the
ColorSync folder?

In your Colorsync Profiles folder there is a folder called Display. Check the alias (find info) to see which profile it is defaulting to. If it is not the one you have picked in the Monitors Control Panel, trash the alias, pick your profile from the MCP, wait 10 seconds, and check the alias again. If it is not the one you picked you may have legacy alias problem in your System>Preferences>folder or an older Colorsync extension or control panel floating about.
