Re: Rendering Intent in Linocolor
The rendering intent is Perceptual out to print and Colorimetric to the
screen. Modifying an output profile in LC6 only affects the perceptual
rendering LUT of the profile.
In earlier versions of LC the on-screen rendering was always ABSOLUTE
colorimetric, now in LC6 with the setting File: Profile Setup: Application:
Profile: Proof with media white point simulation ENABLED the rendering is
absolute. Disabled it's relative.
One thing I've just noticed though... you must set the switch before you
select the profile from the image window selection list to see the ABS COL
transform. If the subject profile is already selected and then the Media
selection switch is used, there is no update to the screen. Not a bug, just
procedure. LC developers will be notified anyway.
As far as the difference between prescan and fine scan, they should be
identical in performance pertaining to the profile selection. It's probably
this media switch that's been making the difference.
Check it out, advise here or directly to myself if otherwise.
