A nice option in PS6 is the Assign Profile option [Image-Mode-Assign
profile] Open your CMYK file without converting. Now navigate to the Assign
Profile option and check mark the preview box. Start flipping through the
available CMYK profile until you are happy with the screen preview. Now you
have a a source profile to convert from that you can at least quantify its
color characteristics before converting to a destination profile.
