Load the IT8 scan into Photoshop and Profile to Profile (or Convert
to Profile in PS6) to Lab using the scanner profile. Compare the Lab
values you see in Photoshop with the Lab values in the target data
file that came with the IT8. That's the slow way.
A better way is to:
- convert the file to Lab as above, crop it, and save it as a Lab TIFF
Steve, what settings do I use when converting from my scanner profile to Lab?
What Rendering Intent,etc... I'll be using Photoshop 6.
- download ColorLab from www.logosoft.de (go to the updates area)
- open the file in ColorLab and convert the file to "spot colors"
- this results in a file that is a text file - save it

if you follow the above methods then yes. You need two text files of
Lab values, the original TDF that shipped with your IT8 and the
converted Lab file from the scan.
You can also then load these Lab files into our ColorThink software
and do a 3D vector graph. This graph shows, in 3D all the color
shifts / errors that exist between two files.
