If the purity control is the only

compromise. With the adjustments the PressView software allows I can get
it close but I was hoping for "perfection". Probably too much to ask for?
When I started comparing monitor measurement data with Logo ColorLab
a couple of years ago just to see how consistent these devices are,
it turned out the average differences for 40 odd color patches were
around delta E 3 from corner to corner when data sets were compared.
Good monitors that calibrate at multiple points across the whole
imageable area and not just in the sweetspot at the centre are better
than this, e.g. the Quatographic. But you can't quite eliminate these
differences mainly because CRT monitors are so sensitive to ambient
magnetism which causes local color distortions in the imageable area.
