Dear Listmembers,
Among the automated color conversion servers, such as ICC AutoFlow,
iQueue, etc, is any of them configurable to do the following: ?
- watch a hotfolder for PDFs to arrive
- colormanage the PDF to a target device (ie source swop, target
tektronix)
- print the PDF to the target device (in postscript)
- delete the intermediate (colormanaged) PDF.
in other words, I want to place a correction between the PDF and the
printer.
An alternative would be to use something like CrackerJack Pilot to watch
the hotfolder and print the PDF to postscript, and use a colormanager in
postscript between that and the printer; such as Parachute. Does
BatchMaker PS or Autoflow or other work inline directly to the printer
without saving intermediate (colormanaged) results?

Roberto, sure that such product exists, it is called "ColourServer PDF".
(released in january)
How it work:
Print to file in a hot folder configured for specific color management
needs
the server make all color management tasks like Grayscale, RGB, CMYK,
Spot or custom colors TO Grayscale, RGB or CMYK output
It then send the corrected file to distiller for PDF outpur OR to
desktop printer for direct output.
Can be used for complete color conversions (raster and vector) or for
digital proofing or remote soft proofing with paper simulation.
You can use specific ICC profiles or device link profiles ans as for
grayscale profile from Photoshop 6!
If you need more info about it, just e-mail me and I will send you the
spec sheet and a pdf demo.
Hope this help!
