We anticipate using PhotoShop 6.0 (Mac and PC) for almost everything except
graphic design and image placement (PageMaker 6.5, Mac only).
Move up to InDesign 1.5 (2.0 when it ships) and it will simplify your color
management considerably. It may be a bit more of a challenge for a few other
functions, however... which should be improved by v2.
Uh, sure color management is, but wait for v2, give it about three to
six weeks, then check out the
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html and watch for all the
red flags. Aside from various PDF confusion issues, printing itself
is infinitely different though potentially more powerful function in
In-design than PM. If you have the gumshun', go for it. If you have
to produce, give yourself some transition time in the color
management curve before getting involved in a program that demands
manual exercise before realizing confident results.
(jus gettin in ma digs whilst climbing out of yet another client-born
InDesign nightmare..)
