Epson 1270 profiling

A student has asked me to help create a profile for her Epson 1270. I'm
trying to output color patches to run through WiziWYG (which I'll then
tweak to fix what never seems to work the first time). Following general
recommendations I suggested she set color correct adjustment to "no
adjustment" in the advanced menu. Problem is...there is no such option
on the Epson 1270. Is this step essential?
