Hi guys,
My name is Dwane Hollands and I am new to this forum. In about 2 months we
are to be implementing a full colour management solution. This includes
Agfa Sherpa 24, Colortune Pro 4.0, Xrite DTP41, Xrite monitor optimiser. I
have a bunch of questions to ask, but I will space them out over several
emails.
My mac machines are running on OS 9.0.1 with colorsync 3.0 and I've had a
little look and play with applescripts supplied by Apple. I'm quite amazed
at what can be done with these applescripts. I'd love the ability to
automatically tag images with a profile. Different drop folders for
different profiles. However, I am having difficulty with the file formats.
We save our scans as TIFF files. Although it says in the read me's that
colorsync and applescript supports TIFF I have been unable to get them to
work. It returns an error of 'file format invalid' or something similar.
I've tried with RGB TIFF's and CMYK TIFF's. I thought I'd try a JPEG then,
but when I put it into the "automatch" folder it returned an error message
saying that it was a GIF file and it's not possible to save into a CMYK
colorspace to that effect.
Does anyone know why? I would love to build a little workflow for myself
based on applescripts. I have other customers who will eventually become
part of our CMS, and it would make it real easy for them just to use drop
folders with applescript! Cheap aswell : )
Thankyou for your time and I appreciate any response I receive.
Best regards,
Dwane Hollands
