It wasn't my intent to start a discussion about the topic, only to suggest

relevance to warrant my posting. I apologise to those who disagree!
I don't disagree. But Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, and many others all
know that with consumers you may use the process of "If you build it
they will come if they like it or need it." The manufacturer process
is more like: "Even if you build a better mousetrap you have to
negotiate." Plus it's difficult to ask people to go with change,
abandon that which we know for bold new frontiers...da doo run run.
As a lifer in the MAC environment, I am as a consumer-user (and I'm
sure many others) excited about the idea of OSX (All that
preemptive-multitasking makes me just want to point the old 45 at the
PC driving my RIP). But ultimately I don't care to get caught up the
middle of something which should be served up at a boardroom table.
No-one has shown me it will improve the color I currently manage.
That's up to the developers who have to face important what-ifs and
potential opportunities face in selling me a product. Do they want to
be the one everyone uses? Who wants to be the PhotoShop in this
industry anyway? In the future? First through the gate? Fools rush
in? Blah, blah, Ginger. Blah, blah.
In turn, Apple has to stress their commitment to OSX, turn on the
rayguns and get consumers to understand and embrace the great leap
forward. Why isn't someone beating me over the head with the
necessity? The need? The desire to have OSX and nothing but OSX? Why
isn't OS9+, Colorsync 3.0.3, a fistfull of programs and library of
networked MACs and PCs good enough? And how do I get my clients to
stop trashing the extra "system" folder on their new iMacs and iBooks?
And as a production-based Colorsync user: Why should I have to go
looking for anything? Someone out there should be force-feeding me
How-ColorSync-Works-in-OSX till I literally woof my cookies on
Adobe's doorstep and demand my just desserts as an unforgiving,
whining, dimwitted button pusher who happens to affect what some
people buy from time to time?

I agree Brucie. I wouldn't mind a bit of Adobe/OSX discussion if it helps
prod Adobe into bringing Photoshop to OSX. And, of course, I would think
that any color management discussions relating to OSX would be absolutely
appropriate.
However, the first OSX geek that uses the term "preemptive-multitasking" in
a sentence gets cut off at the knees! (Oops, excuse me while I go cut myself
off at the knees....) :-)
While single-mindedly reacting to the above (an OS9 thing I guess) in
my usual just-got-back-from-vacation,it's Monday, loudmouth snook,
geekish way, it also occurred to me I probably strayed off
topic....oops...sorry...I can only do one thing at once!
