Greetings:
Hoping to et some insightful feedback. I have been a very happy user of
Profiler RGB going back to the days of Horses. I use the Profiler RGB
for building profiles for printing on my Epson 1200 with Epson Photo
paper, Epson Heavyweight Matte, Epson Archival Matte, Epson Photo
Quality Ink Jet Paper and a few others. Over the past couple years I
have kept up with all the upgrades and I am now using version 2.1. The
profiles that I have built for the aforementioned papers and others
using version 2.1, just are not giving me the same satisfaction as prior
versions. In the past each upgrade seemed clearly to me and my use to be
an improvement to the previous version.
What seems to be the problem? Transitions from shadow areas to mid
tones, they are much harsher than ever before, they do not transition
smoothly but in a harsh manor. Every time I get ready to build new
profiles either because of a new Profiler update or adding a new paper I
reread the PDF manual to make sure that I am doing everything the same
each time.
I am running a Mac 4, OS 9.1, PS 6.0.1, Profiler 2.1. I print with will
all color adjustments off in the Epson driver. I scan the resulting
print on my Howtek 4500 with all color correction and sharpening turned
off.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark
