I'm in big trouble unless I can get our DuPont DesignerProofer calibrated by
Monday morning :-(
The thing has been producing near perfect proofs (match to Cromalin) for two
years, but has suddenly decided to warm everything up to an unacceptable
degree.
What are my options?
I have:
1. A couple of free hours over the weekend
2. ColorBlind Matchbox+
3. A Spectrocam
4. The software that came with the RIP and Epson engine
I would rather find some way to calibrate using the EFi RIP rather than
bypassing it or adding a different one.
For some reason I cannot get the ColorWise software that was supplied with
the RIP to work. It looks like Java programme and comes with Mac Runtime for
Java v2 but will not connect or recognise the RIP.
Our Macs are using Runtime v4.x or somesuch so maybe the software is too old
for our set-up.
After I get over this immediate problem I am thinking of replacing the EFI
Rip with the Best RIP. Anybody got any thoughts or experience with this
combinations -- or suggestions about something better?
If this stuff is old news to the list, please mail me off-list.
TIA
