True. But it has little to do with metamerism or chromatic adaptation. In
red light a red and a white surface will simply reflect more or less the
same wavelengths. Had the logo been green, for instance, it would have
appeared dark grey or black.
But due to chromatic adaptation, the red box would probably have apeared
white after a while in the darkroom. (Well, sort of, anyway)
