I wonder how some of these things work and what I am really going to get
when I wish to embed their profiles.
------
I begin calibrating my monitor ( just adobe gamma on MAC ) :
I load my starting profile ( call it orig.1 )
I calibrate
I save and name the new profile ( call it test 2 )
----
Now, my new profile shows up everywhere it should.
However,
When I run the new profile (test 2) through the
apple script " show Profile info "
it tells me that my profile name is the
beginning profile (orig.1)
----
I realize the monitor profile is not the profile to embed.
I know the new profile (test 2) is a new profile.
I don't understand why the new profile
has the original profile name embedded.
I always go back into the scripts and " rename "
my new profile to my new name. Is that necessary??
---
Does this happen with the hardware/software
monitor calibrators??
I am in the market for profiling gear.
I have been using Agfa - and have been looking at
Print open and Monaco - - what do you think??
-----
1 more question if I may.
Could someone send me a profile they have
made for the HP 5000 dye ink printer.
I am not happy with mine and would like to
compare a "solid" profile.
Thanks all,
Michael
