I used the scanner mounting fluid(Kami fluid? sp?) quite a bit in the past on a
Crosfield drum scanner(a drum is a drum), and the product works quite well as long
as you are not scanning larger than apprx. 700%@300dpi of a 35mm. Anything larger
and we had to go back to the oil, this may have also been a problem in conjunction
with the mounting mylar used. And be aware that on one emulsion type(can't
remember which one) we did have a problem with the emulsion "absorbing the fluid".
It didn't destroy the 35mm slide but it did make it look strange, kind of fogged.
I'm sure Terry's customer can give you better up to date information on the Kami
fluid. Test the product before committing to its use for your specific function.
