density shift - how much is too much

Hi,
Perhaps some of you can help with this question.

How much density shift is "normal" in a print run using process color
printing? (Assume we are talking about a high speed device that is
outputting hundreds or thousands of pages per hour, versus a slower
device.)

Would you expect to see a different amount of density shift for the
different colors? (In other words is it normal for one color to shift a
different amount than the others?)

Thanks in advance for your comments.
Greg
