Hi all,
I wonder if anyone have experienced the following ...
Preliminars
I4ve been trying to profile an Epson Stylus 9000 with an ORIS Rip, Epson
Glossy Heavy Weight Paper and Epson Inks, the client quest was to match an
Agfa PressMatch System.
At the same time, in another customer, I4ve been trying to profile an Agfa
Sherpa 43, With AgfaJet proofing paper and Agfa Inks. Again, the quest was
to match an Imation Match Print.
Same profiling software and same instrument in both cases...
Observations
In a first sight, both printers had an excelent behavior, and match the
colors as I spected, so the customers...
In a more detail comparison, the difference was evident, the yellow ink
delta E in both cases was VERY notorius. When I said Yellow ink, I mean a
100% of coverage, but in lower percentages the match was very good as I
said.
It seems like the 100% yellow ink in the Stylus and Sherpa are a kind of
light orange, and the PressMatch and MatchPrint the yellow 100% is more
bluish (in both cases, they use the Euro espec.)
My conclusion is that nothing can be done about modify the resulting
profile, due they are the nature of the pigments of both inkjet printers.
(I4ve been trying to modify the profile in the ORIS Colortuner, but the
delta E got bigger for the yellow 100%)
The same phenomena is for the Epson and for the Sherpa.
Question
Is that correct?
If its true, I guess a change of inks is a must, or maybe the paper , or
maybe the printer, or maybe me...
Thanks in advance
