Valid comment. So, to the 3-D charts I went, looking at CIE-LAB values
at the same time (with my previous version of ColorBlind, since all
three profiles predate the arrival of 4.0). Roberto seems to be
absolutely right:
CIE L:
Matchprint 88.9
Epson Semigloss dye 81.9
Epson Premium Semigloss pig 85.3
CIE a:
Matchprint 0.4
Epson Semigloss dye 13.0
Epson Premium Semigloss pig -7.2
CIE b:
Matchprint 96.9
Epson Semigloss dye 102.6
Epson Premium Semigloss pig 87.7
Epson dyes are "yellower", and Matchprint is "brighter". Epson pigs are
OK but who would want to use them for proofs, anyway? (Except me,
because I need the pigs for the other applications...) BTW in the 3-D
projection, at the yellow corner, Matchprint is kind of sandwiched
between the other two.
I look forward to my results with the eight-color Roland FJ-500 which I
am about to begin to profile.

You can't always want what you get.
