Unfortunately, we also have Quark documents that need printing. So I've
been trying to grasp the colormanagement options of the printer itself,
but without much luck yet.

Scenario: I have a Quark 3.31 document, with linked RGB images (in
Colormatch). I'm trying to make a colormanaged print of that document.

Consider CompassPro XT from Praxisoft. It can apply profiles to TIFF, EPS, both raster and vector. It can even do Pantone pretty well.
