Colorsync 3x works perfectly with all the image applications I've seen. No
worries there.
On a side note however I do my proofing on an Epson 1200. A couple of days
ago I tried proofing out on Adobe Pressready , an image that was corrected
by the numbers in CMYK. It came out rather strange, pink skin tones and
fluorescent greens. I thought that this was strange as it proofed out
correctly with Best Designer Edition or Quick draw and a rgb Print Open
profile. So I deleted and reinstalled PressReady. Added the updates. Printed
the same.
Now, if you are going to judge your output simulations by PressReady this
will be case in point that an unreliable RIP is going to get you into a
muddle sooner or later. In general PressReady is a bit pretty on output
compared to real offset, but with certain images it's behaviour is so
strange that you can't put your reputation on it so.... I think there is a
demo of Best Color DE on their site. It's not perfect but you can bet your
jobs will come out correctly.
