What softproofing settings did you use in PS6?
I had my "reference" CMYK image proofed on a Kodak Approval which we also
made a profile from and simply "assigned" this profile to the image in PS6
to get the correct preview. Really weren't using the "Proof Preview" feature
for this image. It's my understanding that this would preview correctly.
I've only used the PS6 soft-proof feature when I want to preview the image
in something other than the current mode/working space.
BTW, we did soft-proof a few RGB images in our "working CMYK" and they also
showed the same characteristics. I just figured the only accurate way was to
have a "real" proof next to our soft-proof of the exact same image with the
correct profile assigned.
