Scanning an IT8 as a test image requires treating it as an image: in other
words, scanning onto at least as large a space as your final use, and
converting on opening or changing, tagging as needed. An IT8 scanned for raw
data purposes is a different fish, it is full of raw RGB numbers, and like
any target, should not be converted on opening or tagged on saving, but
instead dealt with raw. Profiling is the Sushi Bar of imaging, where raw is
the correct method...
