idiotic.
so i called modern postcard to ask about custom profiles and after the
3 second silence i got the answer i knew was coming "i dont know what
you are talking about" but i figured SOMEONE there must know what i am
talking about, i have to get past the customer service guy and get to
someone else......and i got someone who knew what they were talking
about!!!!!
Told me what i need to know to build a custom cmyk profile with a heavier
black generation to keep my color mostly in the darker end, and then told
me to pretty much pull out all the yellow and magenta (i just want a cool,
sublte blueish tone) give it a little ity bit of cyan...and that the green
cast in my prints is a typical epson issue in greyish images (need a custom
profile for that too, i guess). so it turns out that only the outer layer
of modern postcard was clueless, and that when you get inside, there is
actually a person who understands color managment.

awww thanks. you know, sometimes you think you know something, and then
you hit a brick wall very hard and start to think "maybe i dont know
anything".
i must say that this list has taught me things i never thought i would
need to know, and now when i talk to my friends about my life in color
managment hell, they look at me like i am speaking greek.
