Just to be clear; that I meant that the printers need to come up to our
educated level of ICC awareness.

I just separate for the unknown destination! Here in France the printers are
either syndicated (unions) thus can't give out information beyond their
duties (hah) or just not in their scope as the prepress house does the work
before and the printer then is concerned with printing. The situation is
really a guess and no more, until the industry can get together a suitable
standard that is adhered to. There is a quality loss when going to an
unknown destination. Their prepress shops get a better separation as they've
tuned the separation tables to the press. We'll have to accept that. It's in
the interest of everyone to come to agreement of this open workflow but when
will printers decide to let us in?

And that advice everybody gives you: "Ask your printer" - yeah sure....
Agreed!
