The 5500 certainly has the potential to be a good proofer, but its output
*must* be viewed under controlled lighting (how many pressroom floors haave
controlled lighting?) to be valid. Then you come up against the issue of is
it an RGB proofer, with the native driver, or a true CMYK proofer, with a
good color managed RIP, and which RIP? The cost of an effective color managed
RIP and a 5500 runs beyond most users budget, especially with profile
building hardware and software thrown in.
