Dear List,
I am trying to 'pull apart' the 'profiling' method that Xerox (Tektronix)
and Monaco have developed for building Target Device and Xerox Printer
'Links' - it's called PhaserMatch ICC v 1.0
Essentially one prints the patches, then scan them - this is the part I am
trying to eliminate - then combines this new profile with a custom built ICC
profile, which is then available to the printer driver as an option.
I would prefer to have the option to use my DTP41 and PrintOpen to build the
Xerox Printer profile - rather than any scanner - and then combine this with
my custom built ICC profile for building the link.
I can see that the internal name of the 'scanner built profiles' is in a
format that is not unlike that of BEST's Profile Keeper, but when I try to
open the 'scanner profiles' in PrintOpen, I can view them, but I am unable
to view or edit the internal name.
When I manually add a 'sampl'e internal name to an existing profile (in
PrintOpen), the Xerox software does not recognize my newly edited profile as
a valid Xerox printer profile, just the one's built using the 'scanner' and
their method.
Changing this one step might make this solution actually work . . .
Darrin.
