Dear Colorsyncers
I'm looking for some help with inkjets, Postershop and it's profile
management.
I've made several profiles with Profilemaker (DTP 41 specrto) for a Gretag
Arizona 500, Epson 5000 and HP 5000. Haven't got to the Gretag Lightjet 430
or Epson 9000 yet. All work pretty well when printing an RGB embeded profile
(adobe '98) image to these printers. I open the image in Postershop, select
process and adjust the profile usage setup. IOW, I select 'Use embeded
profile' as input and 'Default printer profile' for output, perceptual intent.
Default printer profile is the one I made.
My problems start when I try to print a CMYK file made from a adobe 1998 to
film based Agfa proof profile seperation.(not embeding) or any of the 4c
outside source files we get.
If I use 'No selected input profile' (I think wording is right), everything
else is greyed out. If I use 'Default profile' for input, am I using the
printer profile? I've tried "Use embeded profile" after I've embeded the 4c
profile and 'Default printer profile' for output. The resulting proof does
not match the Agfa proof no matter what rendering intent I use.
Any suggestions?
Also any Postershop experienced user suggestions on Postershop linierizations,
ink limits and ink double hitting. I took the ink double hitting to 0 and the
100% inkjet swatches match CMYK swop ink patches very closely, but when I've
made a proof with a new profile, the yellow comes out very weak.
Thanks
