I recently had the opportunity to purchase a Barco monitor, I understand it is high-end. My
understanding (I am a newbie) is that PowerBooks cannot be used for color management unless you
use an external monitor; the LCD is not suitable. This fact was quickly confirmed as soon as I
added a spare 15" Apple monitor.
Also, I have by-passed Epson's print dialogue box profiling in favor of ColorSync to output my
photographs to an Epson printer (s). The improvement in workflow was immediate.
Are Barco monitors the best monitor for color management? This is all new to me. Pricing on
Mitsubishi and Sony monitors isn't that high.
My question is, do the more expensive Sony or Mitsubishi monitors offer equivilent performance at
a more affordable price? And, that aside, is Barco known for good tech support?
