There's also a transition control. How does that effect the color?

If you are seeing three settings for an Ink color then you must have
light, medium, and then the regular shade of that color. With my
ColorSpan printers C1 is Light Cyan, C2 is Medium Cyan, and C3 is Cyan.
For other printers I believe the reverse is true, meaning C1 is now the
full color.
Have not used the transition control yet, but it is supposed to give us
the ability to shift the point where the light ink stops and the medium
ink begins as well as where medium ends and the full color begins.
As a general rule once you determine the appropriate amount of ink
restriction for the full shade of cyan and magenta, set the diluted
shades to 10 percent less.
