We use a Scanmate 11000 drum scaner with ColorQuartet (v4.4) scanning
software in our workflow. We work primarily in CMYK, but occasionaly work
in RGB for special projects. This has been a reliable piece of equipment
and outputs some nice 48 bit scans. The color management is a bit
mysterious. The software has an internal calibration procedure where you
scan an it8 at which point the software builds a scaner profile, but how
this profile is applied is not certain (at least to me). We have the
software do a RGB to CMYK conversion on the fly, and I have no idea what
kind of rendering it uses. Anybody else know?

In short, we've been very happy with it for use in a high volume scanning
enviornment.

Regards,
Eric Bullock
