I probably needed to rephrase my question more accurately.
I do not want to take a canned profile to determine the ink limits of the printer; when I was referring to TAC, I meant the total amount of coverage allowed by the laser printer engine.
Most manufacturers have TAC limits due to the construction of the fuser inside the printer.
I have noticed that many manufacturers of profiles of laser printers allow 400% TAC/ink limits in their profiles, since there is some type of internal algorithm that will prevent the user from printing an out-of-limit coverage that *could* be detrimental to the fusing unit.
I would rather build a custom destination profile that includes the *correct* TAC/ ink limit info, so if others wanted to use this profile as a simulation profile, the would have an accurate portrayal of the device.
Hope this makes sense.
