The specified schedule that EyeOne enthusiasts have shown no interest in
following is once a year. So what schedule might they be willing to follow?
Once every two years, or three? The Spyder is designed as a low cost device,
and if its recertification (as both Ray and I have suggested) would already
be on a longer schedule than a spectro, then we quickly come to the point
where changing display technology, new connection standards, lower costs,
improved devices, or some such factor will most likely cause users to wish to
replace the device within this time frame. We are on the edge of a paradigm
shift from expensive devices that we have maintained and serviced, to
affordable devices we replace as desired.
