This is just a guess based on a similar experience I had with the Epson
printers and pigmented inks.
If you are achieving a small color gamut with your Epson ink and paper
combination the first place you should look for a problem is with the
paper. Make sure you are printing on Epson brand paper made for your
printer. If you are not using the correct paper that was made for pigment
ink printers you will get very poor results. For example saturated colors
such as reds print as orange. I do not have a list here of the correct Epson
papers but there are many that will work with your printer and give you very
good results. You should contact your local Epson dealer.
