ColorSync automated matching scripts
"Match to CMYK" and "Match to Chosen Profiles"
appear NOT to support JPEG CMYK files.
I get an "Image space not supported" error message.

Yes that's true, CMYK JPEGs are not supported by the ColorSync scripting JPEG plugin. It's not an error with the script, it's the JPEG plugin that currently lacks support for CMYK.
