I'm sure I used the right control, but I think your explanation of "the
contrast setting controlling the brightest white" is the tip I needed. It is
odd that WiziWYG doesn't explain this, but instead has you looking at a light
gray square in a white box. If you match the two you have a muddy gray white
setting.
