Hello sweetheart!
I hope eveything is OK with our "baby". He is such a cute little child.
All cocky and bushy-tailed when he is showing off at El Escorial, but
such a vulnerable little animal when he depends on his mummy to comfort
him through a stomach upset.
My only plans for the forthcoming All Saints long weekend are, as they
were for Columbus Day, to relax quietly, sleep a lot and if possible
read a lot. Ideally, this would take place "off campus", so that I am
less distracted by friends and bars and the like. However, it doesn't
have to be far and could even be in Oviedo as long as (I hate to repeat)
my flat doesn't turn into a refugee-camp-cum-surfers-warehouse. As
always, I would cherish any time I could genuinely spend with you - as
opposed to the two of us having to fit our agenda to the whims of your
son, whose present lifestyle I am afraid neither he, nor you or I, can afford...
So, I am open to suggestions. If you want us to go somewhere, the deal
is simple: you either risk sleeping in the same room with me, in which
case I pay, or you get your own which you pay. I can probably afford to
invite you to our meals :-) (I can also provide French books and videos,
now that I have acquired my own brand new VCR last Monday, precisely
because the weekly Tuesday dinners with the Rotary Club are depriving me
of the only TV program I assiduously watched before. I will be let off
for one Tuesday soon, since any week now they will proceed to vote me in
as a full member, which is obviously an occasion at which one does not
wish to be present.)
My cash management has to take into account that I am also scheduled to
go to Holland in November for that weekend organized by my mother, but
considering we get paid twice in December, I should survive.
Did Emilio like the press cuttings I e-mailed you? Don't forget his autograph...
Keep me informed re Murphy, bless his cotton socks!
Love,
--
