Where do I find the best and up-to-date info on the ISO 12646 ?
Currently the DIS (Draft International Standard) is being finalized,
following some revisions proposed to the Committee Draft by the US
subcommittee. Generally a DIS becomes a final standard without
significant further changes. You should be able to get details through
your national standards organization.

Please can someone please tell us who are the people putting together this

working draft and what is their remit?
ISO Technical Committee 130. This consists of all the national graphic
arts technology standards committees. In the UK it is BSI committee
PAI/43.
The aim of the standard is to make recommendations on viewing conditions
to enable users to achieve consistent and accurate matches between soft
proofs and hard copy.

I have found the setting of 0.3 and 85 an excellent setting for monitors in

The DIS will have 80cd/m2 as the minimum luminance level, as did the CD.
The wording implies that 120cd/m2 is preferred but not mandated.
