Hello to everybody again,
There have been some discussions going on about profiling software.
1. At the moment I am only interested to look at the top-end versions,
because I just want the best predictable colour.
2. I am not interested in what maybe someone would like to see as an end
result. That is up to the person who is going to make any manipulations for
example in Photoshop according anybody9s choice, likes, dislikes!
3. No, what is most important is predictable colour: What I see is what I
get!
4. Software that runs without any glitches.
It seems difficult to say which is the best or most accurate or what so ever
as far as I did understand from the discussions.
But the price differences are to my opinion immense:
Let9s have a look at it:
CompassProfile (USB) Single Copy Printer/Scanner/Monitor $1,999
CompassProfile (ADB) Single Copy Printer/Scanner/Monitor $1,999
Monaco Proof $1495
Monaco Profiler $4250
Colorblind Professional 4.0 for Macintosh with Prove it! Meter USB
$4.795.00
(I don9t know the RRP for Gretag Profilemaker)
For printer profiling:
CompassProfile, is giving the choice of measuring from many different
targets (CMYK and RGB) and different amount of patches with a maximum of
more than 4000 patches.
Monaco Proof does it with 914 patches
Monaco Profliler Permits target selection of up to 3000 patches
Colorblind does more or less the same.
Is there anybody who can explain if those price differences are justified?
CompassProfile looks interesting considering it9s flexebility.
Monaco Proof a bit cheaper, the same quality profiles as Monaco Profiler?
Thanks for any comments,
