Given an affordable way to get a Spyder, I would choose it over a Chroma4,
but either will definately be a better choice than visual calibration, even
your WiziWYG calibration should be a better choice than visual....
and the following questions:

The WiziWYG calibrator is the Chroma4. Unless Praxisoft paid extra to have it
specially setup to *not* work with other software, then it will.

There is a setting for the OptiMate under OptiCAL that should function with
your Chroma4, though I must admit I can't get it to work with a Chroma4 and
an iMate ADB/USB adaptor... but that might be asking a bit much. One of the
advantages of the Spyder would be moving up to USB, unless you already have a
USB Chroma4.

Haven't done side by sides with OptiCAL on this lately, but the last time I
did, the X-Rite DTP92 (Monitor Optimizer) came out just about even with the
Spyder, but the Chroma4 didn't come up to the same standard as the other two.
