What you want to do (send out a target to profile their devices) can and
should be done (by them I'd suggest)
Excellent! You are giving me hope, there! I could not see the benefit of
calibrating my system to a perfect match if the whole gain was lost at
last phase. I had a talk with the guy at my lab (Lambda output) an hour
ago, and again he told me that they will remove all ColorSync profiles
when opening the Photoshop files. He again told me that I should match
my monitor to the print :- (
I guess if I had the choice, I would look for another lab, but there is
no other lab in the vicinity and I like to have personal contact with
the guys and be able to discuss on the job.
So my next question is: (really a beginner's question I reckon, please
bear with me) When I will tag the file with an output profile created
from the target printed by the lab, can the profile be embedded in such
a way that even if they remove it, the image will hold it's calibrated
values?
Thanks again for your enlightenments! It's great to be able to benefit
from all the knowledge that is out there.
