These were loose proofs of TIFFs (and some EPS's that I rasterized in
Photoshop). For anything more than a handful of pages, you need
something else to do page proofs.
But you probably need something other than the 1270 too -- a page
proofer it is not. The speed (or lack thereof) and the cost per page
argue against using it as a page proofer, never mind the hoops you
have to jump through to control the color through a RIP.
I'm not suggesting that everyone should use RGB printers for
proofing. I was merely responding to Henrik's contention that
printers that are limited to RGB input are without qualification more
trouble than they are worth. Using a kitchen knife as a screwdriver
is more trouble than it's worth...
