One can not express the horrible feeling of being in an "otherworld"
circumstance. If it would be unreal, it would be like being part of a
Hollywood film. The problem is. . . it was real. New York gathered on
the rooftops and watched the drama unfold. At first it was a blow to
see the first hole in the side of the north tower. People stopped in
the streets to watch the flames and smoke begin to pour out.
Emergency vehicles from the north part of the city weaved through
traffic and the crowds. Then FBI, CIA and other unmarked vehicles
began to converge on the southern tip of Manhattan.
The second tower was hit and the tragedy went from one of limited
impact to total dispair. Some of the folks who have experienced
terrorism in Israel recounted tiny bits of information, as if to help
provide some small degree of insight into what was happening.
As the 1st tower imploded, full dread hit the city. We knew it would
only be a matter of time before the second was gone. We prayed for
each life and each family affected. We continue to pray for all
affected lives.
I have travelled a fair amount and know that the US will
unfortunately never know the degree of open freedom in public places
or in air travel that we formerly enjoyed.
My deepest concern is for the children both of my community who have
lost their dads. I have met many here who worked in the World Trade
Center. I am also concerned for our three children, who have had a
horrible new evil thrust upon them and their future.
Thank you for your concern and well wishes. Now is truly the right
time to put aside personal pride and to seek the only God. It is only
through His law that we will know His peace.

I express all my solidarity to the friends in the USA in this moment of
tragedy.
